Program Manager – Data and Strategic Partners

Cynosure Health has an immediate opening for a REMOTE Program Manager – Data and Strategic Partners (flexible schedule, up to 20 hours/week, $60/hour*) to manage the data programming and implementation of Cal Healthcare Compare’s 3 websites and related research activities. With data from multiple sources, this program rates hospitals and long-term care providers in California on clinical quality, patient experience, and patient safety. This information helps consumers make smarter and more informed choices when making medical decisions. Cal Healthcare Compare believes that when you empower consumers with publicly available information, you will improve the health care system. The ideal candidate is data savvy, creative and forward-thinking program manager with a passion for data management and translation, program design and oversight, relationship management and strategy. Some additional responsibilities of our Program Manager will include:

  • Data Management and Translation – Your responsibilities will be to work with our data partners to analyze program data to identify trends and translate data into actionable insights and recommendations for healthcare consumers, health plans, hospitals, long-term care providers, and more. You will maintain data files, technical guidance documents and lead data report creation for our honor roll programs, the Hospital Community Health Needs Index, and beyond. To be effective in this role, you must be able to communicate to audiences how to use the data meaningfully to drive decision making.
  • Program Design and Oversight – You will work alongside the team to develop program timelines, implementation plans, and creating impact reports. You will lead program communications and be the point person for tracking all action items related to data. Additionally, you will manage the program websites, which includes content development, uploading data, and providing guidance how best to illustrate the data for consumers and stakeholders.
  • Relationship Management – You will frequently meet with stakeholders virtually to discuss program status and goals, including the Board of Directors and multiple vendors. You will be tasked with preparing presentations to illustrate progress on data-related activities and impact.
  • Strategy – You will collaborate with program stakeholders, to assess program strengths and opportunities. These tasks will include publishing program insights, designing new data products to support program goals, and assisting with proposal development for new business.

 

What skills do you need to be successful in our role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as data science, biological sciences, public health.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in program management, data analysis, and relationship management in the healthcare space.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including experience with data visualization tools and statistical analysis.
  • Experienced with using and interpreting healthcare performance data, including but not limited to data from CMS, Leapfrog, HCAI, and CDPH.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate complex data and insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel or related software. Working knowledge of WordPress, Tableau, or similar software is a plus.
  • Ability to function independently in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
