SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER

Cynosure Health is seeking to contract with a Senior Program Manager to manage new product development, strategic partnerships, and execution of recognition programs associated with Cal Healthcare Compare’s 3 websites.  In addition, the Senior Program Manager will provide general project management support with Cal Healthcare Compare’s governance committees, including its Board of Directors and Technical Advisory Committee, health plan partnerships, and website operations. The Senior Program Manager works closely with Cal Healthcare Compare’s Executive Director, Director, website vendor, and data analytic partners.

 

Cal Healthcare Compare uses publicly available data to rate hospitals and long-term care providers in California on clinical quality, patient experience, and patient safety. This information helps patients, health plans, and purchasers make smarter and more informed choices about where to get care. We believe that when you empower consumers with publicly available information, you will improve the health care system. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, creative and forward-thinking Senior Program Manager with a passion for translating data into action, program design and oversight, and relationship management. Some additional responsibilities of our Senior Program Manager will include:

 

  • New product development – Your responsibilities will be to work with our data partners to develop new data products and promotional materials for patients, health plans, purchasers, healthcare organizations, and researchers. You will support the creation of technical guidance documents, FAQs, and other sensemaking materials for our honor roll programs, the Hospital Community Health Needs Index, and beyond. To be effective in this role, you must be able to communicate to audiences how to use the data meaningfully to drive decision making.
  • Program Design and Oversight – You will work alongside the team to develop program timelines, implementation plans, and creating impact reports. You will lead program communications and be the point person for tracking action items related to our work around our existing and emerging data products. This includes, but not limited to, the creation of sensemaking materials, promotional materials, and website content.
  • Relationship Management – You will frequently meet with stakeholders virtually to discuss program status and goals, including the Board of Directors and multiple vendors. You will be tasked with preparing presentations to illustrate progress on product development and impact.
  • Strategy – You will collaborate with program stakeholders, to assess program strengths and opportunities. These tasks will include publishing program insights, designing new data products to support program goals, and assisting with proposal development for new business.

 

What skills do you need to be successful in our role?

 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as biological sciences, public health, healthcare administration.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in program management, program design, product development, and relationship management in the healthcare space.
  • Experienced with using and interpreting healthcare performance data, including but not limited to data from CMS, Leapfrog, HCAI, and CDPH.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Including, but not limited to, persuasive writing, working with social media and journal outlets, and public speaking.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, or related software. Working knowledge of WordPress, Tableau, or similar software is a plus.
  • Ability to function independently in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

 

About the Position

 

This is a fully REMOTE, 1099 contractor position with flexible schedule, up to 20 hours/week, $70/hour.
