As a partner to IMPAQ International, Cynosure Health supported the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Partnership for Patients Initiative, a nationwide public-private collaboration involving 17 national, regional, or state hospital associations and health systems, referred to as hospital engagement networks (HENs).

The United States Department of Health and Human Services has estimated that the HENs efforts have resulted in 50,000 fewer patient deaths in hospitals and approximately $12 billion in healthcare costs. Under the “Round 2” of the Partnership for Patients Initiative, the HENs continued their work to reduce preventable hospital-acquired conditions and readmissions.

Together with IMPAQ International, Cynosure Health expanded this promising work at a national scale by providing technical guidance on improvement efforts. The Cynosure Health team was responsible for cultivating frontline providers, mining content across HENs, developing education outreach teams, as well as supporting event content and HEN activities.
