The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services awarded a Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) 2.0 contract to the American Hospital Association (AHA)/Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) as one of 17 HENs that helped identify best practices proven to reduce hospital-acquired conditions with the objective of spreading them to other hospitals and health care providers. These networks were a key element of the Partnership for Patients (PfP) campaign to improve the quality, safety and affordability of health care.

Cynosure Health was a proud partner to AHA-HRET and supported the 34 state hospital associations and more than 1500 hospitals participating in the HEN 2.0 program.  Our team of improvement and physician advisors developed and delivered both clinical and improvement content, coached and mentored state hospital associations, hospitals leaders and staff in this continued effort of reducing patient harm.

Over the course of the one year project, AHA-HRET HEN 2.0 hospitals prevented over 34,000 harms and saved nearly $300 million in health care costs.
