California Medicaid Waiver Core Measure Improvements

PROJECT AIMS:

Cynosure Health partnered with California’s public hospitals to address core measure performance to improve performance among challenging populations. Recently, This effort involved California’s Medicaid waiver program, Delivery System Reform Incentive Payments (DSRIP). The program and centered on performance with CLABSI, septic shock, and severe sepsis mortality reduction.

RESULTS:

Results included improved central line bundle compliance and improved sepsis bundle compliance. Additionally, participants achieved a relative reduction of approximately 12.5 percent for sepsis mortality.
